e-Glober, which is already Turkey’s sole authorized agent and business partner of global wholesale platform Alibaba.com, will now deliver Alibaba Cloud’s suite of services to the exporters, small and medium-sized businesses and other local companies it works with in this emerging but important economy in the Middle East.
Turkey is seeing a rise in the adoption of cloud computing in the country, Alibaba Cloud said in a release. Citing market intelligence firm IDC, the company said Turkey’s public cloud market was valued at US$96.93 million last year, putting it ahead of other major markets in the region such as the United Arab Emirates ($82.56 million) and Saudi Arabia ($69.22 million). By partnering with e-Glober, Alibaba Cloud will be able to deliver services that allow Turkish companies to expand their geographic reach and better compete in global trade, the company said.

Alibaba Cloud will offer elastic computing, database services, networking, security and middleware services to its clients in Turkey. Those clients center on the online retail, multimedia and gaming sectors. Alibaba Cloud’s Elastic Compute Service, in particular, will deliver faster computing and greater scale, the company said, helping Turkey businesses cut costs and quicken the time it takes for goods to reach the market.
“There is a genuine interest among Turkish companies to leverage the full capabilities of cloud, which has been encouraging for us to see,” said e-Glober CEO Orkan Aytulun. “By partnering with Alibaba Cloud, an influential global cloud service provider, we can meet the increasing market demand for cutting-edge cloud products and services to be brought to this high potential market.”
Alibaba Cloud, the leading cloud provider in China, services both Alibaba Group’s operations and other enterprise clients. The company has expanded overseas in recent years to Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia in Southeast Asia, Frankfurt, London and Paris in Europe, New York and San Mateo in the U.S., Dubai in the Middle East, as well as Seoul, Tokyo and Sydney. It currently has over 2.3 million customers worldwide.
